Suzanne Shaw has 15 years’ international experience in energy and environmental economics and finance. She worked as a consultant in Europe and the Caribbean, integrating sustainability and climate resilience in private-sector investment decision-making and in public-sector planning, in energy, transport and solid waste sectors. Regionally, she has worked with finance institutions and development agencies such as EU, USAID, UNDP, DBJ, as well as with various Caribbean governments and private sector. She was an adviser in conceptualizing the Caribbean Climate Smart Accelerator (CCSA), an initiative to enhance regional climate resilience. She is currently working with CCSA to establish a blended finance mechanism for climate resiliency in the Caribbean energy sector. Previously, she worked for the European Commission, advising on low-carbon energy policy and investment decision-making. Suzanne seeks to use business and investment as a leverage to achieve sustainability outcomes, whilst simultaneously driving long-term economic growth and private sector profitability.
